I was wondering if you might know the half life of DCPIP? I forgot to standardise it often in my investigation and am wondering how much of an impact this will have had on my results?100408

DCPIP solutions should always be freshly made up, but providing the stopper is kept on tightly, the concentration is unlikely to drift much away from the standardised value. Much will depend also on the storage conditions, e.g. was it kept reasonably cold and was it stored in a cupboard or other dark place? If your titrations were carried out over a period of one week and none of these precautions was taken I would imagine that the DCPIP could easily become up to 10% more dilute.
Predicting the actual extent of deterioration is impossible – there are far too many variables, and some of these are unquantifiable.
