- Can I have some help with organic/inorganic definitions please? In unit 1 (May 02) a question asks for the organic product of the reaction between methanol and sodium. The answer in the mark scheme is sodium methoxide - I thought this would be an inorganic product since the text book states 'metals and the compounds they form with non-metals are known as inorganic'.
