Hydrogen halides: audio tutorial
How to make them in the laboratory
Brian Orger discusses the making of hydrogen halides in the laboratory.
Listening will help you to understand the reactions of halide salts with concentrated sulphuric acid. These are tricky changes involving redox as well as acid-base reactions, so listen carefully.
Note you should not prepare these compounds in practice without consulting your teacher, and performing a risk assessment.

Wow! That was very clear and interesting as I have not yet covered this topic at school but was interested in it anyway. Thank you! And please can you make some more of these?

Reaction
A very usefull tutorial, clear, laconic and even encouraged 'audience participation' (or at least a little bit of thought). More from you please sir!

feedback
Really well explained, nice and concise.
As above a video or even powerpoint presentation would be a useful visual aid.

This audio tutorial was really good, but it would have been excellent if there was a video demonstration to go with it.

Suggestion
It would be better if a video was also shown at the same time, so that students can visualise the topics being discussed more easily
