Click on the title of your course below to find out how the topics on this web site relate to the sections of your course. You will find this web site helpful whichever course you are studying - we support all courses not just Nuffield.

Not all the material in a topic on Re:act may be relevant to a particular unit or module on your course - always refer to the content detail in your specification.

Most AS chemistry courses which started in September 2008 have new specifications. Both these new specifications and the old specifications are listed below. Note that there is no specifically Nuffield Chemistry course starting September 2008. Nuffield and Edexcel now have a joint specification, called Edexcel.

Where a specification has been replaced, the old specification will continue to be examined for a year or more. This is so that students who started their courses before this September can complete their A-level. Consult your exam board, using the links below, for details about which units are being examined and when.

The list of topics for AS and A2 is pretty well the same for all advanced chemistry courses, and the subject content has not changed significantly for the new specifications. More emphasis has been placed on 'How science works' and 'Green chemistry' in the new courses.

We sometimes refer to the Nuffield book when answering questions and writing tutorials. So it does help if you have access to a copy of the fourth edition of the Nuffield Advanced Chemistry students book.
