In iodoform test, what will be the odor of the vapors and the color of the precpitate that will form, if we put potassium iodide with ethyl,methyl,& isopropyl alcohol.

The iodoform test, as you probably know, is a test for the presence of the CH3CO- or CH3CH(OH)- groups. The precipitate (of iodoform) will be a yellowish colour and will be accompained by an antiseptic smell. Of the three alcohols, methyl alcohol will give a negative test.
