WHat are the colours of the halogens in a hydrocarbon solvent? I know Iodine is pink/purple but what about Bromine and Chlorine?

Corrie writes ...

The colours of bromine and chlorine in hydrocarbon solvents are much the same as they are in water - in contrast to iodine.

The colour of bromine will be orange to reddish-brown, depending on the concentration. Chlorine solution will be a pale yellow-green.

Risk assessment
