Read our general notes on Risk Assessment

I am investigating the titration of 1,2 di-aminoethane with copper(II) sulfate. However, I can't find out what indicator to use or what pH to run the experiment at. Any ideas?

I haven’t heard of this reaction being used in a titration. The conventional procedure uses the derivative of 1,2-diaminoethane, usually referred to as edta. The indicator in this case is murexide at pH 8, which, I suppose, is worth a try.

Incidentally, the complex involves only two of the bidentate ligands to each copper ion, not the expected three!
