Read our general notes on Risk Assessment

I am doing my chemistry investigation to find out the concentration of Cl- in unknown solution. I have read in Fajan's method that the NaCl should be dried in 100oC for an hour? Is that really necessary if I have already a dried NaCl. I don't really get the end point of my investigation. Please help.

Are you sure you don't mean drying the silver nitrate, not the sodium chloride?

Here is a web link to a description of this experiment which mentions drying the silver nitrate and also discusses the end-point of the titration:

Risk assessment
Before attempting any practical work based on the advice and suggestions on this website, you must do the following. Identify any hazards, assess the risks from these hazards, and then decide appropriate control measures to reduce the risks. You must have these approved by those in authority in your school or college laboratory. Do not rely on what is said on this website. For further guidance see our tutorial on Risk Assessment.
