Where I can get tips for the write-up and layout of my investigation?
We cannot give you too much help here, because this is the sort of help which must come from your teacher or from your own research.
Look at the specification for your course.
If you are doing Edexcel Chemistry (Nuffield), we recommend that you look at the Edexcel examination website. You can open the current A-level specification for Nuffield Chemistry in a pdf or in a Word document format. If you scroll to pages 58 - 60 in the Word version you will find all the criteria on which your investigation will be assessed by your teacher. Make sure that you cover all the points in criteria in your report.

Risk assessment
Before attempting any practical work based on the advice and suggestions on this website, you must do the following. Identify any hazards, assess the risks from these hazards, and then decide appropriate control measures to reduce the risks. You must have these approved by those in authority in your school or college laboratory. Do not rely on what is said on this website.
For further guidance see our tutorial on Risk Assessment.
