Molecules of the month

featured linkhttp://www.bris.ac.uk/Depts/Chemistry/MOTM/motm.htm

You can explore the properties and shapes of interesting molecules from sites which post a new compound each month. You will need a plug-in such as Chemscape Chime but this is explained on the sites which offer links to the sources of software.

If you right-click on Chime skeletal structures you can alter the display to show ball-and stick models. Molecules featured include Ectsasy, Viagra, Nandrolone and Etorphine (an elephant tranquilliser).

As well as Bristol there are molecules posted at:

  • Oxford, and
  • Imperial College.
