Predicting the shapes of molecules

featured linkhttp://www.chem.purdue.edu/gchelp/vsepr/

This web site helps you understand and visualise molecular shapes.

The tutorial has pictures of molecules which could help you to think about molecular shapes. VSEPR stands for valence-shell-electron-pair repulsion theory. In other words it is the acronym for the theory that allows you to predict the shapes of molecules from the number of bonding and non-bonding electron pairs in the outer shell of the central atom.

There are practice problems on the site to help you practice your knowledge.
